H.N. Oetken

Hey there, and welcome. I'm not anyone special, I just love to read and write thrillers, dark fiction, and the like. I don't have any education or certifications that make me stand out, aside from taking every possible creative writing elective in middle school, high school, and even community college. It was an easy A for me and I enjoyed it.

I discovered my love of writing in Mrs. Girardi's second grade class, when my friend Jessica and I participated in a "begin your story with this line" spin-wheel activity. We wrote the story, and I loved the activity so much that I never stopped writing. 
That summer I wrote, and illustrated, a series called "The Adventures of Sparkles the Dolphin" on some pink scrap paper. I do still have those tucked safely away in a plastic tote in my basement.

Oh, and then there's the four short stories I wrote for what was supposed to be a series, called "Crash Philosophy". Three of them were published, so there is that.

I just really like writing, I like crafting my characters and exploring each of their unique personalities, how they might react in specific situations (one might even say some dangerous or torturous situations), and where it might take them in life.
